During an interview with Vanity Fair, actress Kirsten Dunst admitted to the strangeness of the kissing scene she had with Brad Pitt in the movie Interview with the Vampire.
In the 1994 film, based on the 1976 novel of the same name by Anne Rice, Dunst, who played young Claudia, was only 11 years old, while Pitt, who played the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac, was 30.
Dunst, who is now 41, recalled having to bite into the neck of an actor who was sweating a lot. “That was the worst thing I had to do, and also obviously I had to kiss Brad Pitt at that moment,” she recounted in the 2021 interview.
In addition to the age difference, the actress explained that she felt the actor was like a “brother” to her, which also contributed to the strangeness of the scene. “I was a little girl, and he was like a brother to me, and it was very strange, even though it was just a little peck,” she explained.
Nevertheless, she revealed that she was happy with the time she spent on set during the filming of the movie. “Apart from that, I was treated like an absolute princess on that set,” Dunst said.
